I despise people who treat death as an expression of their desires. They claim to be willing to die for the chance to experience unique moments such as attending their favorite band’s concert or meeting their idol. While I am certainly not in the position to judge those who would go to such extreme lengths, I cannot help but crinkle my nose in disgust when I hear similar statements. If there was truly an option to die for our desires, then our desires would not be desires anymore. Desires are difficult to attain and the appeal stems from the benefit that we gain when we fulfill our desires. Dying for our desires would void the reward we receive from achieving it, which makes me scoff at the concept of it. Yet, I shamelessly hide behind the secret that I too, have something I would die for.
